You’re Going To Eat That? #MFRWAuthor

That’s what my brother-in-law asked the first (and possibly only) time he ever ate cornbread and beans. At least with my family.

Most people from the south won’t find anything weird about cornbread and beans. My BIL had even had it before … but not the way we eat it.

See, we mix it all together and just for artery blocking pleasure, add a big dollop of mayonnaise to it.

Of course the cornbread has to be cooked in a cast iron skillet – there is absolutely not other way to cook cornbread. Don’t argue with me!

Kidney beans. Chopped onion. Salt & pepper.

And mayonnaise.

It can be a little weird looking and is definitely not something a foodie would post to instagram.

But it’s delicious.
